Procedure description

Aging of the periorbital area often creates that undesirable tired look which often makes us look much older. Blepharoplasty, also known as eyelid surgery or eye bag surgery, works to dramatically improve the appearance of ageing, droopy eyelids and puffy under eye bags. Loose skin on the eyelids or the undereye area can occur for a variety of reasons, including too much sun exposure, an unhealthy lifestyle, high cholesterol, stress or ageing. Blepharoplasty involves the removal of excess skin, muscle and fat from the upper and sometimes the lower lids. Brow lifting techniques, either endoscopic or direct, can be performed simultaneously if necessary. In this cosmetic eye surgery operation a cut is made in the natural skin fold of the upper lid. Excess skin and fat are removed and tightened if necessary from the orbital septum. After closure of the incision, the scar is in the skin fold of the upper lid, and therefore hardly visible. The procedure is suitable for both men and women with most patients being over 35.

We have been working in the field of beauty since 2011.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

If you are healthy (e.g. no serious eye problems or a medical condition that could impair healing), have a positive outlook, and have specific, realistic goals in mind for your eyelid rejuvenation, you are an ideal candidate.
Avoid lifting, bending, straining, exercise during the first 10 days after surgery. You can restart gym activities three weeks after the blepharoplasty procedure.
Depending on the amount of excess fat and skin removed, your post-treatment recovery time will vary between 2 to 7 days. Your own personal recovery plan will be discussed with your Treatment Coordinator and Surgeon to ensure you follow the correct aftercare procedures to maximise results. Any follow-up or review appointments will also be scheduled to monitor your healing progress.
If you suffer from any of the following medical conditions then you may be unsuitable for this surgery. These are: Hypertension (high blood pressure), Cardiovascular disease, Diabetes, Hypothyroidism and ‘Graves Disease’ (thyroid problems), Dry eyes or problems with tear ducts, Detached retina
Glaucoma, Prone to keloids (angry, red scars).
If you have any of these problems then it doesn’t mean automatic exclusion from surgery. What is does mean however, is that you are at increased risk from complications because of these.
Do not take aspirin, Ibuprofen or anti-inflammatory medication in the weeks leading up to your surgery. This also applies to any ‘over the counter’ medicines such as nutritional supplements. These can affect the body’s healing process and may interact with any medication given to you during or after surgery. Your surgeon will give you instructions regarding this.
